"An absolutely stellar night of performances, of too many songs and stars to name, but a wonderful tribute to one of Australia’s greatest theatrical names. Home Grown, under the direction of Jason Langley and the fabulous accompaniment of Michael Tyack on piano and with the help of Chapel Off Chapel, City of Stonnington, MTI Australiasia and Hedger and Nicholson, put on a delightful show that would be delightful to see tour or make a comeback in the future."
"Home Grown have assembled an impressive line up for the Songs of Nick Enright. It’s all happening tomorrow night at Chapel Off Chapel! This star-studded cast will all come together for one night only in Home Grown’s latest Songbook Series: The Songs of Nick Enright."

Because of their hard work and obvious dedication to their craft, Home Grown was born...

If you’ve ever found yourself stuck in a musical theatre YouTube vortex, chance are that you’ve stumbled across clips of some of your favourite Broadway stars performing some pretty awesome, yet relatively unknown pieces at New York hotspots ‘Joe’s Pub’ or ’54 Below’...
Enter the amazing Nick Hedger and his partner Ben Nicholson. Still barely in his twenties, Nick is already the composer of SIX musicals (yes, you did read that correctly), his showcase Playground was one of the highlights at Chapel off Chapel earlier this year, and his cabaret performances are rapidly becoming legendary...
With Nicholson and Hedger’s admirable goal of seeing more Australian stories on the stage, more than anything Home Grown left me buzzing with excitement for the future of Australian musical theatre. I can’t wait to see what projects these talented songwriters unleash next.
So we're often told in this industry that making our own work is crucial to the longevity of our success, and so often few of us have the courage to take this advice. Just under two years ago, Ben Nicholson and Nick Hedger took the initiative to actually create their own work, and thus Home Grown was born.
